Liquid Lipo treats moderate to severe fat accumulation to improve the appearance and profile to various areas such as under the chin, thighs, arms and more. This injection destroys fat cells by breaking down the membranes of fat cells. The dissolved fat is cleared by the lymphatic and circulatory systems gradually over the span of several weeks. It follows the same path of getting metabolized and broken down, and then excreted as waste.

What To Expect

During your treatment, you are seated in a comfortable position, and a topical numbing agent or ice pack is applied to ease any pain or discomfort. You will receive multiple small injections to the desired area – a process that takes about 15 to 20 minutes. The exact number of injections depends upon the amount of fat in the area.

Fat Removal Treatment Guidelines

Schedule your Liquid Lipo appointment several weeks prior to a special event which you may be attending, such as a wedding or a vacation, as it takes time for results to appear.

Before your appointment, make sure to wash your face thoroughly. This will reduce the chances you’ll develop an infection.

Make sure to avoid acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Both can cause bruising to develop after the procedure.

Results of our Fat Reduction Treatments

After your treatment, you can resume your normal activities. Post procedure, you may have some swelling, bruising and/or numbness under your chin. For most patients, this will dissipate in a few days, but it’s possible for numbness to last for a few weeks.

Can Liquid Lipo replace a facelift?

Liquid Lipo dissolves fat but does not remove loose skin. To fully understand if Liquid Lipo can meet your expectations, as opposed to results from a surgical procedure, discuss your goals at your consultation. We do oftentimes combine Liquid Lipo with Ultherapy®. Once the adipose tissue is removed, if loose skin remains, we can then perform an Ultherapy® treatment to firm it back up.

How many Liquid Lipo treatments does it take?

The number of treatments you’ll need is dependent on your desired outcome to be determined at your consultation. However, we tell most folks not to commit to Liquid Lipo unless they plan to do at least two treatments. This treatment is a process, not a quick fix.
