What is Ultherapy®?

What To Expect

During the treatment, comfort levels vary from person to person, but the sensation lasts only while the energy is being delivered. We have found PRO-NOX™ Nitrous-Oxide (50% Oxygen and 50% Nitrous Oxide mixture) delivery system to be successful in helping relieve anxiety and pain in our patients during Ultherapy® and other procedures. PRO-NOX™ is patient-controlled inhaled analgesia which takes effect in seconds, offering immediate easing of pain and anxiety. Since it is patient- controlled, you can respond to your pain and anxiety when you need it and, it has the benefit of being a short duration. PRO-NOX™ clears from the body in minutes.

The length of your treatment depends on the area(s) being treated and your individual plan. The procedure will take 20 minutes to two hours depending on the number of treatment areas to be addressed (e.g. a face and neck procedure typically takes 60-90 minutes, while a chest treatment takes approximately 30 minutes). After your treatment, you can resume your normal activities. Ultherapy® requires no downtime. There may be some redness that will fade within a short amount of time.

Skin Tightening Treatment Guidelines

Pre-Treatment Instructions:

If possible, discontinue blood thinning medications 3 days prior to treatment.
You may not be treated with Ultherapy® if you have open wounds or active implants such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, or metal stents in the treatment area.
You may not be treated if you are pregnant.

Post-Treatment Instructions:

Avoid regular use of NSAID for 3 months if possible.
Skin may be red for 24 hours.
No permanent nerve injuries have been reported, but it is possible to have numbness, pain, or muscle weakness due to inflammation of a motor nerve that can last from 2-6 weeks.
Welting can occur with treatment and resolves typically within an hour to a week.
You may experience bruising and tenderness in the treated areas.
You may use your regular skincare routine following treatment.
Immediately after the procedure, you will be able to return to your normal daily routine and exercise.

Results of our Skin Tightening Ultherapy

Some patients may see an initial effect right after their treatment. However, because Ultherapy® works deep beneath the surface of the skin to stimulate collagen production, the real results appear over three to six months after treatment. Can Ultherapy® replace a facelift?
